A new adventure for Dainty Boutique

Dreams are illustrations... from the book your soul is writing about you.  ~Marsha Norman

My business began as a hobby, it went from being named Dainty Creations to a name change of Dainty Boutique. I was never able to stick to one particular craft, it just made things more interesting for me to work on a variety of items. I have a deep-rooted plan for my business and once the funds allow it, it will truly be something unique; something I can't quite share with anyone yet. Until then, I have decided to go mobile with my shop. I've done a lot of traveling, and enjoyed it very much. So, I thought, what a great idea this would be; it is  like me to not stick to one form. So, why would I want to ground myself in one specific place... And so, this is where my venture of Dainty Boutique on wheels begins.

I am filled with so much glee, and am so very much excited to begin it.  But I want to share this with my fans, my customers, my friends, my family and anyone who will be involved in any way possible. First let me thank you in advance, I will forever be in your debt.

For the past 5 years I have been a WAHM (work at home mom) to two children. Between breaks, crafty mommy ideas, a great hubby, and help from relatives and friends, I have been able to work on my business and fulfill orders as much as possible. Sometimes orders went out late (*waves* to those customers - my apologies again and a big TY for your awesome patience). But I always got them done! Yay.

I think it is now time to take the next of many steps. But due to some difficult hurdles, I cannot do this on my own and am reaching out to anyone and everyone for a little help. We all know that saying; "When life throws you lemons, make lemonade!" And that is exactly my motto for this new venture.

My Fiance has a Wells Cargo enclosed trailer that he uses for work and to trek our motorcycles when we go out of town. Well, I was originally looking into buying an old beat up ice cream truck, but then realized why would I spend money on that when the trailer can be "glamified". Well, with lots of hugs, kisses, giving extra gaming time and showing puppy eyes 24/7 ,I convinced him to let me transform that trailer into a fabulous boutique!  I am so excited, and have all my expenses, decor and ideas planned out. Now it's a matter of making it happen, and I am 100% determined.

So the concept of this Boutique will be to  travel to different sites, especially colleges and street fairs. Go out of town to different states, host parties, host craft classes. The trailer will be filled with most of my handmade creations, as well as other local crafters' items. Some Art work from fellow Artist friends. Some clothing and fabulous jewelry

The trailer requires a lot of work and I need to clean it up. Any volunteers to help me in that process? =D heheh

Next step will be to paint it, put up some beautiful wall paper, get vinyl sticker for my logo, hunt for some old bookcases and shelving that I can renovate myself. So much to do, but at least all the business paperwork is under control!

**A drawn vision of this dream is soon to follow, STAY TUNED**

Christmas Bulb Wreath

A friend hosted a crafty class in my home this past weekend. She taught us how to create some bulb ornament wreaths. It was super easy and a lot of fun. I cannot wait to make some more. Here is a pic of what I did.

Baby Shower

Our baby shower was on June 25th. A friend of mine baked some yummy banana nut and red velvet cupcakes. I got the cupcake liners on Etsy as well as the cupcake stand. I wanted to keep the baby shower colors, black, white and pink with some damask. I added some pink glitter cut out paper butterflies, I used a cute paper punch from Stampin Up. And added them to most of the cupcakes, I also added some plastic diamonds that the banquet provided. The paper butterflies were also spread around the centerpieces of each table.

As I mentioned before, I worked on about 50 pictures frames that the guest received as party favors. On the back of each frame, I added a small note - "Hans and Paola's Baby Shower. June 25th, 2011. Thank you for helping us with Aviana's arrival", lots of work, but everyone loved them!

My baby shower chair, wasn't the typical wicker one. I had purchased a very chic damask chair from Home Goods about a year ago, and figured it would be the perfect chair for our event.

The event was only for 4 hours, so we only got to play 2 games, one was a baby feeding game. Couples lined up, the men sat in chairs with bibs on, while the ladies were blind folded, the one who can feed their baby the fastest was the winner. That game was lots of fun, we had some "dirty" babies and tons of laughter! The second game involved the guest having to guess the measurement of my belly. My Mother came in fist place, and hubby in second! lol

I love Henna Tattoos, so we just had to hire a henna artist for all our guest =]

The food was yummy, the company was great, and the event was beautiful. Grateful to have it all in my life <3

Baby Shower Favors

I made about 50 frames like this in different colors and styles for my baby shower this past weekend. I added handmade rossettes made out of different beautiful fabric, and touched it up with some random embellishments. In the back I added the date and a little comment for all our guest. A lot of work, but well worth it.

The frames can be found at Michaels for just a $1. They were on sale the day I purchased them and got them all for .66 cents each!

I'll surely be making mote detailed frames to sell on Etsy, keep an eye out. Www.daintybabe.com

Fabric Markers on Onesies

My 3 year old and I drew on some onesies for our expecting bundle of joy. Since I am on bed rest this was a fun project to do. I want to eventually get some other family members to make something special for the little one. All we used were Crayola Fabric Markers and blank onesies. After you are done creating your masterpiece just throw them in the dryer for about 30 minutes or just pass the iron over it!
